Sight Machine is a live perfomance collaboration between Kronos Quartet and Trevor Paglen.
While Kronos performs works by Terry Riley, Laurie Anderson, Steve Reich, Islam Chipsy and others, the musicians are monitored by cameras feeding into a suite of Artificial Intelligence algorithms.
Images of what the machines “see” while looking at the performers are projected onto a screen behind the performers.
Sight Machine was performed at Pier 70 (San Francisco, 2017), Holland Festival (Amsterdam, 2018), Smithsonian American Art Museum (Washington D.C. 2018), and Barbican Centre (London, 2019).
